Our Services

From walls to windows, decks to doors, we handle every part of the paint job with care.
  • Interior Wall & Ceiling Painting
From a single room refresh to a full interior repaint, we handle wall and ceiling painting with clean lines and a smooth, even finish. Every surface is patched and primed first, so the color goes on right and holds up for years.
  • Trim, Doors & Window Painting
Baseboards, crown molding, door frames, and window trim take a different technique than open wall space, and it shows when it's rushed. We paint every edge with a steady hand for a crisp, professional look throughout your home.
  • Exterior House Painting
Siding, shutters, and trim all take a beating from Chicago weather. Our exterior house painting uses weather-resistant coatings built to hold their color and protect the wood underneath through every season.
  • Deck Staining & Restoration
Sun, rain, and snow wear deck wood down fast. We clean, sand, and stain your deck to bring back its natural grain and protect it from the elements for seasons to come.

  • Deck Painting
Prefer a solid color over a natural wood look? We paint decks with durable, slip-resistant coatings built to handle foot traffic and outdoor exposure without peeling or fading.
  • Cabinet Refinishing
Give your kitchen or bathroom a whole new look without a full remodel. We spray cabinets for a smooth, factory-style finish at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

  • 1. What areas do you serve?
    Support:
Brush & Bright works with homeowners throughout the Chicago suburbs. Send us your address when you reach out, and we'll confirm we're covering that area for your project.
  • 2. Do you offer free estimates?
    Support:
Yes, always. We'll take a look at the space, talk through what you're hoping to get out of the project, and send a written estimate with no cost or obligation attached.
  • 3. How much does it cost to paint a room or a house?
    Support:
It depends on square footage, how many coats are needed, and how much prep the walls require. A repainted bedroom and a full exterior job are worlds apart in cost, so we give real numbers after seeing the space rather than quoting a flat rate upfront.
  • 4. How long does a typical project take?
    Support:
A single room is usually a day or two. A full interior repaint often runs three to five days, and exteriors can take a week or longer depending on the size of the house and the weather. You'll get a specific timeline as part of your estimate.
  • 5. Do I need to move my own furniture?
    Support:
Not for most jobs. We'll shift furniture to the center of the room and cover it before we start. For anything large or fragile, we'll let you know ahead of time so it can be moved out of the way.
  • 6. What kind of prep work is included before painting?
    Support:
Patching holes, sanding rough spots, cleaning surfaces, and priming where it's needed. Skipping prep is the most common reason a paint job looks bad within a year, so we treat it as part of the job rather than something extra.
  • 7. Do you supply the paint, or do I need to buy it?
    Support:
We handle sourcing the paint as part of the project unless you already have a color or brand in mind. If you'd rather buy it yourself, that works too. Just mention it before we finalize your estimate.
  • 8. Do you offer low-VOC or eco-friendly paint?
    Support:
Yes, low-VOC and zero-VOC options are available whenever you'd like them. They're worth considering if anyone in the house is sensitive to strong smells or you just want the odor to clear faster.
  • 9. Are you licensed and insured?
    Support:
Yes. Brush & Bright carries the licensing and insurance you'd expect from a professional painting contractor, and we can provide documentation before your project starts.
  • 10. Do you guarantee your work?
    Support:
We do. If something's off once we finish, whether that's a missed spot or an uneven line, let us know and we'll come back and make it right.
  • 11. Is there a best time of year to have my house painted?
    Support:
Exterior painting works best from late spring through early fall, since paint needs a certain temperature range and low humidity to cure properly, so we schedule exterior jobs around the weather rather than a fixed date. Interior painting isn't weather-dependent, so that can happen any time of year.
  • 12. How do I choose a paint color?
    Support:
If you're not sure where to start, we offer color consultations: bringing samples, talking through your lighting and existing finishes, and narrowing things down together. You don't need to walk in with a decision already made.
  • 13. Do you refinish cabinets, or just paint walls?
    Support:
Cabinet refinishing is a regular part of what we do. It's a faster, cheaper way to update a kitchen or bathroom than a full replacement, and it holds up well when the prep and spraying are done properly.
  • 14. What's the difference between staining and painting a deck or fence?
    Support:
Stain soaks into the wood and lets the grain show through, while paint sits on the surface and covers it completely. Stain usually needs more frequent touch-ups outdoors, but a lot of people prefer the natural look. We can talk through which makes more sense for your wood and how much upkeep you want to deal with.
  • 15. Will you repair drywall before painting?
    Support:
Small holes, dents, and cracks get patched and sanded smooth as standard prep. Bigger drywall repairs are usually doable too, and we'll flag it if a wall needs more than routine patching.
  • 16. Do you handle older homes that might have lead-based paint?
    Support:
Homes built before 1978 can have lead-based paint on them, and federal rules require contractors to follow lead-safe work practices whenever they disturb painted surfaces in a home that old. Let us know your home's approximate age when you request an estimate so we can plan the job accordingly.
  • 17. Do you protect my floors and belongings while working?
    Support:
Every time. Floors get covered, furniture gets moved or draped, and fixtures get taped off before we open a single can of paint.
  • 18. Do you clean up when the job is finished?
    Support:
Yes. Drop cloths, tape, and any debris leave with us, and the space looks the way you found it, just with fresh paint on it.
  • 19. Do I need to be home while you work?
    Support:
Not necessarily. A lot of clients hand over a key or a garage code and go about their day. We'll walk you through the plan ahead of time so you know what to expect when you're back.
  • 20. How do I get on your schedule, and is a deposit required?
    Support:
Once you approve an estimate, we'll lock in a start date. Spring and summer book up fastest, so it's worth reaching out early. A deposit is typically required to hold your spot, with the remainder due when the job's done.
